Our History 2018-02-26T23:15:55+00:00

In 1874 the Star Hotel was opened as the Builders Arms Hotel by James Walsh, it was later named the Star Hotel By Mrs Jane Poole who took over as licencee in 1879. History states that many of the licencees of the Star were big into racing and sports in the town, supporting local teams and keeping up with all aspects of Racing. A tradition that has carried on over the years and continues today.

Common phrases known to the pub are “Start at the star” and “everyone’s favourite local”, Maintaining the heritage or a traditional Aussie pub with modern facilities, good quality food, drinks & service for all types of customers is just how we like to do it!
